Self Catering Update - Open Fire Spaces

As a result of WFIS requests we have obtained special permission for a limited number of camping places to be available where an open fire can be used for self catering.

There is currently space available for a further 50 people to camp in this area. Please contact Jay Dodson the Camp Chief to request these spaces, which will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis.

If you do plan to cook completely on open fires, I would suggest you book and contact Jay immediately. There is likely to be a lot of demand for these limited places from the people already booked Self Catering and do not usually cook on Gas / Petrol.

John Granger we would like this when you’re booking please.

More Information for the committee
European Youth Foundation (EYF)
Council of Europe
The European Youth Foundation (EYF) was set up in 1979 by the Council of Europe to provide grants for European youth activities. The Fund aims to encourage youth activities that promote understanding, co-operation and peace among young people in Europe.
Financial support is given to non-governmental youth organisations or networks involved in youth work and operating in a Council of Europe member state. The following types of organisations and/or networks are eligible:
international youth NGOs;
international network of youth NGOs;
regional network of youth NGOs;
national youth NGOs;
local youth NGOs.
There are two deadlines each year: 1 April for international activities and work plans; 1 October for international activities, work plans and structural grants (regional networks).
Applications are submitted online. There is guidance on how to apply online if you are not already registered or if you are already registered.

Google Grants
Google Grants
Posted: 13-Aug-2009
The Google Grants programme supports organisations sharing Google's philosophy of community service to help the word in areas such as science and technology, education, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy and the arts. Designed for registered charities, the grants provide free advertising on Google AdWords to charities seeking to inform and engage people online. Grants have been given to hundreds of charitable groups whose missions range from animal welfare to literacy, from supporting homeless children to promoting HIV education. As a result of this free advertising, many charities have experienced an increase in the recruitment of volunteers and sponsorship. Applications can be made at any time.

UK-German Connection

Funding for youth groups
UK-German Connection offers two grants which support joint activities and visits between youth groups in the UK and Germany.
Youth Challenge Fund
The Youth Challenge Fund is designed to give young people the opportunity to:
Enhance their international experience and intercultural awareness.
Develop skills in a UK-German context by engaging with young people.
Engage in creative, bilateral activities around a selected youth topic, with or without a language element.
Instant Impact
The Instant Impact programme supports first-time visits for youth groups who have not previously met their partner youth group in Germany and would like to work on future projects together.
Both grants can support costs such as travel, accommodation and project resources. The Youth Challenge Fund has three deadlines per year: 31 January, 31 May, and 31 October. The Instant Impact programme has a rolling deadline, and applications can be submitted at any time (at least six weeks before the start of the trip/activity).

Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowships
Posted: 11-Feb-2016
The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust opens its application process for Travelling Fellowships in May each year. Around 150 grants are awarded annually to British citizens who want to travel overseas to gain knowledge, experience and best practice to benefit others in their UK professions and communities.
There are ten annual categories, including one currently for 'Young People' (for talented 18-25 year olds who have a passion for enterprise, leadership or community action).
Applicants come from all around the UK and from many different backgrounds. Each application is judged on its own merit and no qualifications are necessary.
The application to completion cycle is approximately one year long with the deadline to submit an application usually towards the end of September each year.
